However, when a necessary procedure is more invasive, if you’re experiencing sensitivity, or you’re a bit nervous about going to the dentist, we have sedation options to keep you calm during treatment.

If you have dental anxiety, or are nervous about a particular dental procedure, there’s no need to fear. Forever Smiles Family Dental offers sedation options that will keep you relaxed throughout treatment.

The effects of sedation produce feelings of calm and euphoria in patients, making receiving treatment much easier. Patients remain conscious, but are monitored the entire time they are in our office while sedated.

Oral sedation

Your mouth is a sensitive place filled with nerve endings and soft tissues. Though that sensitivity allows us enjoy tasty foods and absorb nutrients, it also means serious pain when something isn’t right. That’s why Forever Smiles Family Dental offers oral conscious sedation to patients with an upcoming procedure or treatment.

Oral sedation comes in pill-form, so Dr. Lanny Nguyen will prescribe it beforehand. You’ll take the pill about an hour before your appointment, so by the time you’re ready for treatment you’ll already feel the effects. This type of sedation can last a few hours, so you’ll need to make arrangements for a ride to and from the dental appointment.
